Also, by the time someone reaches 50, liquefaction of the vitreous will make some of the old floaters sink out of view, being replaced by new ones typical for older people, so it's not like someone who got floaters at 26 will have them so bad at 50 that they won't be able to see through them. They may look to you like black or gray specks, strings, or cobwebs. Then you get to spend at least a week with your head down,as in looking at the ground at all times. Floaters are tough but my god some of these other symptoms (traction, visual snow, palinopsia) are so unreasonably anxiety inducing.
